Screw It and Do It Challenge

I participated in another Screw It and Do It Challenge. I did it mostly to make sure I did something creative while I was wicked busy with my three jobs, I'm no sure it was such a good idea. Basically, you make yourself be creative for 10 minutes a day. There's a little video they make you watch, and I love how she says we have 10 minutes in our day to be creative, when I worked my 12 hour days, I had 10 minutes but I didn't want to spend them creating, I would have rather gone to bed.
Day 1:
I really wanted to use the "C Christmas" but I also wanted to use the heart paper. So, I used the heart paper as the background, added the red snowflake paper and the 'c' paper. I also added the gingerbread houses as another focal point.
Day 2:
I used a couple snowflake scraps and a valentine paper for a background. The love banner is from a swap. The minion is a Christmas tag, I put a heart over the package to make it less Christmasy.
Day 3:
I used some scraps from a recent explosion box for the background. I added the Christmas tag with a clear sticker and some circle stickers.
Day 4:
This is an altered vellum bag. I added some pink paper for the background with some flamingo paper. The 'find joy in the ordinary' piece with foam tape. I thought it needed a little more, so I added the jewel butterflies to the bottom.
Day 5:
I'm going to make this one into a card front. I used a scrap from an explosion box for the background and added some layered flowers I got in a swap.
Day 6:
This is a mini loaded bag. I put some flower paper down as the background. To cover the sides I added some floral washi and some scraps from packing. I added the heart doily and the Valentine's paper.
Here's the other side:
I used the same paper for the background as I did on the front. You can see the floral washi better here. The 'sweet' is a sticker from Hobby Lobby. I cut the cupcakes from some more Valentine paper and added them with foam tape.
Day 7:
This is another vellum bag. I added another scrap from an explosion box, a 3D cake sticker and some balloon ephemera.
 Day 8:
I was not very motivated this day. This is another page in my notebook. I covered the background with some lined paper left over from another project with some balloon paper and some alligator stickers.
 Day 9:
This day, I made a couple 3x3 cards. the backgrounds are some leftover paper, as is the pink paper. The top one has a fairy clip art from a swap. I added some blue pom pom trim with sparkly white trim on top. The bottom card has a girl I cut from some paper.
 Day 10:
This one is actually the front of a gift card holder. The background is scrap paper. I liked the look of the chipboard arrow through the burlap heart. I added some heart stickers to the mason jar piece and added the 'sweet love' sticker to the corner.
 Day 11:
Another vellum bag. I already had the 'snow globe' made from another time. I used some polka dot paper for the background and added some red washi tape and the snow globe.
 Day 12:
This will become another card front. I used some embossed paper for the background with a scrap of zig zag paper. I also added a journaling card and some white cardstock. The flower pieces are stickers as is the felt bunny from last year.
 Day 13:
This is a card for a swap. I layered some cut out clouds on top of the background paper. The unicorn is from a swap, I added the sun and the 'sparkle' sticker.
 Day 14:
Another card. I tried the washi technique with a tube of washi I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The 'happy valentine's day' are also stickers from Hobby Lobby. The heart is an acetate piece I bought online.
 Day 15:
This one is a mini pocket letter for a swap. I layered some paper and added unicorns and stickers.

Screw it and Do it Challenge 3

Here's the rest of my Screw It and Do It Challenge #3:
Day 9, 9/23/17:
My little notebook that I've been putting these in is so stuffed full (at and this point it was only halfway in), this page fell out and I had to tape it back in. They are all scraps from trimming papers. The middle wasn't really attached, so I found a mini card (from a local store) to put over it. I Thought the tag looked good at the bottom, so I attached it with foam tape. I added the 'love' washi as a finishing touch.
Day 10, 9/24/17:
I found the background scraps on my desk, had to add the 'book' paper to fill up the page. I wanted something vintage, so I used a photo of the dog and his boy. I glued it down with glitter glue (from Hollar) making sure the glue spilled out around the picture. I added clock washi to the top to finish it off.
Day 11: 9/25/17:
The background and tea paper are left over from a birthday card. The acetate flower piece is from Hollar, the words are from a journaling card. I used foam tape to attach the flower piece.
Day 12: 9/26/17:
I pulled out the pineapple paper for something bright. The 'is it bedtime yet' scrap conveyed my feelings at the time. The 'memories' piece had the right colors for the page. I trimmed the birthday cake to fit the space left.
Day 13, 9/27/17:
The background paper is from a paper pad from Spellbinders. I saw the keys and thought they'd be good to start with. I wanted something not busy for the background. The 'holidays' piece just worked for the piece. The butterflies gave it a little color (from Hobby Lobby).
Day 14, 9/28/17:
I had bought a foam monsters kit at Hobby Lobby that day, so spent my 10 minutes creating monsters. I plan to give them to friends for Halloween.
Day 15, 9/29/17:
The background was laying on my desk, I used the thin pencil washi to fill the page. I attached the 'halloween' tag with foam tape and spent the rest of my 10 minutes looking for something else to add to the page, I never found anything.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 3, Week one

Again, doing the Screw it and Do It Challenge where I create for 10 minutes a day. Here's the first week.
Day 1:
I had the brown paper on my desk from making a fall pocket letter. The scarecrow and giant acorn are from a swap. The flower brads and ribbon are from a garage sale. The bird is from my stash.
Day 2:
I love the color of this background paper. I laid the butterfly on there while I was looking for something else and decided I liked how it looked, it's from Hobby Lobby. The 'wonder' is on foam tape, it's from a swap. The buttons are stickers from my stash.
Day 3:
LOVE how this turned out. The background paper was from a loaded bag, the washi on the right finished covering the paper. I added sequins to the middle of the designs, the washi on the bottom was on the bag that had the sequins, from a swap. The unicorn is from Tuesday Morning. The bow is from a swap.
Day 4:
I had just read a not so nice message on facebook and was not interested in creating. So, I just got out some paper and stickers. I do like it though. The fox and bee are from a fall sticker book. The butterfly on the left is from a swap. The circles are from Dollar Tree. The butterfly on the right is from my stash. The ribbon on the left is from a swap. The tulip is from Dollar Tree. The flowers at the bottom are from my stash. The jar is from a swap.
Day 5:
Also turned out cute. I was in a mermaid mood for something else, so I flattened out the net bag and used some floral paper to cover the sides. The bag was from Hobby Lobby, the floral paper is from a swap. The stars are from a swap. The flamingo is the front of a card someone sent me.
Day 6:
The teal piece is the back of the flamingo card, the triangle paper is from a loaded bag. The washi on the side is from a swap. The butterfly is from Dollar Tree. The flowers are from Hobby Lobby. The 'be lovely' is from Hobby Lobby.
Day 7:
I like the low color on this. The bird paper was on my desk and just a bit too small, so I added some book looking paper. The birds are from a swap, the book paper is from my stash. The arrow die cuts I got in a swap.
Day 8:
The flower background is a card. I found some washi from a recent swap that matched almost perfectly. I used some green washi to cover the sentiment, that's from an old swap. The heart and 'hello' are die cuts from a swap. The fox is from a sticker book.

Screw It & Do It Challenge last week

This was only a 15 day challenge, so I have a few left to show.
Day thirteen:
I'm not a big fan of this one. Sunday was a bad day, and it just didn't turn out great, but I got it done. I feel this should just be a the scraps on my desk challenge, because that's all I use. Anywho, again they are all scraps from my desk. The marbled washi was something I picked up at a garage sale.
Day fourteen:
I really love how this one turned out. The background is a scrap from a loaded bag swap and it fit almost perfectly on the page, I added some holographic looking tape to cover the paper, that I picked up at a garage sale. The banner at the top has been layered on some pink paper (it's from Hobby Lobby). I also added some bling from a swap to it. The 'peachy' is a rub on from Target, it was an afterthought.
Day fifteen:
This one is ok. It's all just random scraps that I put down. I colored the heart with some dye ink.

I won the Challenge, I'm not sure what that means, but I was to send my email address to the group's hostess.

I'm excited to do the next one. Ever since I started doing it in the notebook, I think it's a little more fun.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 2, Week 2

Day six:
More scraps from my desk. I used thin washi to cover the seams. Got the stamped image from a swap. I wanted to add something to the corners, and remembered this box of random sequins I got in a swap.
Day seven:
I really liked the color of this envelope. I wanted to use some some unicorn stickers I bought, but didn't like how they looked on the background. This unicorn was a wish granted. I picked out some washi for it to lie on. I liked the word believe from the unicorn sticker sheet, but not the speech bubble it was in so I spelled it out with some alphas I got.
Day eight:
The cherry blossom scrap just fit on so perfect I knew I needed to use it. I just added some pink to cover the rest of the page. I noticed the fairy die cut and added her with a little green glitter pen as repair. The letters are something I'm trying to get rid of.
Day nine:
I wanted to use my "found relatives" Tim Holtz ephemera. I just added the chevron paper as background with a rub on sentiment from Target and heart stickers from a Valentine's sheet from Hobby Lobby.
Day ten:
No plan here. I saw the background piece and it fit. The washi was on the desk (from a swap) and it matched. I saw the rub ons (from Target) and added those. Also saw the sequins (from Hobby Lobby) and liked the pop of color, had to add a little bling (from a swap) to cover the holes.
Day eleven:
Found this card on my floor (from a swap long ago), used the red washi to cover up part I cut out for a tag. Thought the jar sticker (from Walmart) looked good. The hearts and you & me are from a Valentine's Day kit (from Hobby Lobby). I layered the you & me on some pink for more color and added the butterfly (from Dollar Tree) to cover a spot.
Day twelve:
I had the background with the circle cut out of it. I added the doily to it to cover the empty spot. Who knows where the banner came from. I stapled it on and added a puffy zebra heart from a swap. I added an arrow on top of another one. The polar bear was part of a birthday RAK, I attached it with foam tape. I think it would have looked better without the doily.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 2, week one

I signed up for the Screw It and Do It Challenge on one of my groups.
Day 1:
I again, decided to go with the index cards. This one has a bunch of scraps as the background. The foam stars are from Goodwill, the felt flower is from Hobby Lobby, the 'hello' sticker is from my stash as is the dog sticker, the black cording is from a swap.
I'm not that excited about this one, but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me.
Day 2:
Again with the scraps for the background. The clock is from a project life card from Walmart, the frame is a resin like frame it was originally a baby sticker from Hobby Lobby, I put a piece of pink paper over the back of the frame and added an owl key from Hobby Lobby. The trim on the side is from a swap.
Again, not so excited about it.
Day 3:
The wavy sparkly washi is from a swap. The firework paper was leftover from a patriotic pocket letter. The heart is from a calendar page. The white star sequins and the gold star sequin are all from a swap.
I like this one except for the washi on the side.
Day 4:
The chevron paper is left over from an under the sea flip book. The top blue is actually some skinny washi from a swap. The blue flower is from a swap, I just added a handmade embellishment (also from a swap) on top of it. The pink flower is a die cut from a swap, I have no idea where the white flower came from. The bee is a sticker from Hobby Lobby. The 'wonder' is a sticker from my swap.
I like this one.
Day 5:
I bought a small notebook and have decided to start doing these in there. The background paper is magenta foiled with tiny black cacti all over it, it was used as an address label on a package. The cake I had printed out last July for a birthday flip book. The hearts at the top are a sticker from Dollar Tree as is the circle.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, last day

Day 15:
Pink background, houses from a journaling card, lawn chair sticker, bunny sticker, hello sticker, butterfly sequin, lace on top.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one, I feel there needs to be something in the middle, but I don't know what.
So, today was the last day of the challenge, here are all my cards:
I think it was a fun challenge, though some days it seemed more of a chore than fun. There's only two cards I'm not really excited about, the one with the foam animals, and the one with the stamping, they're just too plain for me.
Most days I just used the scraps on my desk (there's a lot of scraps on my desk), I didn't really have a plan, sometimes I had a starting point, and then everything just came together.
I'm tempted to keep going, I'm guessing my group might do it again, as they were doing one when I joined the group. My original plan was to make the index cards and send them out with some of my happy mail, but I kinda want to just collect them all somewhere, but I'd probably never look at them again. I don't know, maybe I'll keep my most favorite ones and send the rest out. If you're interested in one, let me know.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day fourteen

Day 14:
The background is just a piece of paper from my desk, I added the washi on the bottom because the blue paper wasn't quite big enough. I wanted to use this Dollar Tree lace sticker, so I put it on some pink paper and cut it out (that took most of my 10 minutes). I added it to the sparkly green egg and put a Hobby Lobby sticker.
This one is OK, it was kinda just putting a lot of things together and hope they looked good.

Screw It and Do It, Day thirteen

Day 13:
The background is a vintage fabric, I added the lace at the bottom (from my stash) and layered some more lace on top of it (from a swap). The ballerina I just got in a swap, I added a little sequin trim to her sash and a flower.
I LOVE how this one turned out, I still love doing things with fabric, I just don't do much hand sewing anymore. The last time I started some, my hand cramped up rather quickly, so I stopped. I love how all the blues seem to go together with the ballerina.
