Look What I Made

I signed up for a swap on Facebook where we bought something at Dollar Tree and altered it and then sent it to our partner.
I decided to alter a composition notebook.
Front
I covered the spine with some burlap ribbon, and the covered the raw edges of that with a vintage trim. I just covered the front with a scrapbook paper (garage sale) that had the tree on it, it's got a velvety texture to it. I added the butterflies (Dollar Tree) because it just looked too plain.
Back:
I chose this patterned paper because the other side has a pattern that sorta matched the blue under the tree, and then I attached it on backwards. I added some die cuts (RAK) so it wouldn't be so plain and some star bling (Dollar Tree). I also realized I attached the vintage trim backwards, but it doesn't look that bad, it's probably not even noticeable until I pointed it out.
After my partner decided not to send to me, and just accept her 'free' gift, another person stepped in and helped out. Here's what I got in return:
She altered a picture frame and made it a shaker with a quote. Sadly the reindeer did not make it attached to the frame, but I have glue, no big deal. I love shakers, it makes my day.
She also included some cute puffy minion stickers:

journal page

I get a subscription box from Lollipop box club.com and finally used some of my stuff today. I'm getting very good at opening the box and hoarding everything in it, except the lollipop.
I still have about half of the notebook I put my Screw It and Do It challenge in to fill up, so I created a journal page:
The background is a card from a swap, I liked the pattern. The box had come with a frame, but it took up most of the page, this frame came in my PeachyCheap.com grab bag, it fit much better. The camera is from the box, it's layered on some note paper from the box. The film strip is a stamp from the box. The images in it are from my latest Walmart haul, they are from a planner sticker set. The other frame is a sticker from the box layered on a bit of one of the bags that holds some of the items in the box. The 'making memories' piece is from the box, it's layered on some more of that note paper.

I really like how it turned out. Maybe I'll do another journal page with the October box, I have another box from August I could do a journal page, too. This could be fun.

Screw it and Do it Challenge 3

Here's the rest of my Screw It and Do It Challenge #3:
Day 9, 9/23/17:
My little notebook that I've been putting these in is so stuffed full (at and this point it was only halfway in), this page fell out and I had to tape it back in. They are all scraps from trimming papers. The middle wasn't really attached, so I found a mini card (from a local store) to put over it. I Thought the tag looked good at the bottom, so I attached it with foam tape. I added the 'love' washi as a finishing touch.
Day 10, 9/24/17:
I found the background scraps on my desk, had to add the 'book' paper to fill up the page. I wanted something vintage, so I used a photo of the dog and his boy. I glued it down with glitter glue (from Hollar) making sure the glue spilled out around the picture. I added clock washi to the top to finish it off.
Day 11: 9/25/17:
The background and tea paper are left over from a birthday card. The acetate flower piece is from Hollar, the words are from a journaling card. I used foam tape to attach the flower piece.
Day 12: 9/26/17:
I pulled out the pineapple paper for something bright. The 'is it bedtime yet' scrap conveyed my feelings at the time. The 'memories' piece had the right colors for the page. I trimmed the birthday cake to fit the space left.
Day 13, 9/27/17:
The background paper is from a paper pad from Spellbinders. I saw the keys and thought they'd be good to start with. I wanted something not busy for the background. The 'holidays' piece just worked for the piece. The butterflies gave it a little color (from Hobby Lobby).
Day 14, 9/28/17:
I had bought a foam monsters kit at Hobby Lobby that day, so spent my 10 minutes creating monsters. I plan to give them to friends for Halloween.
Day 15, 9/29/17:
The background was laying on my desk, I used the thin pencil washi to fill the page. I attached the 'halloween' tag with foam tape and spent the rest of my 10 minutes looking for something else to add to the page, I never found anything.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 3, Week one

Again, doing the Screw it and Do It Challenge where I create for 10 minutes a day. Here's the first week.
Day 1:
I had the brown paper on my desk from making a fall pocket letter. The scarecrow and giant acorn are from a swap. The flower brads and ribbon are from a garage sale. The bird is from my stash.
Day 2:
I love the color of this background paper. I laid the butterfly on there while I was looking for something else and decided I liked how it looked, it's from Hobby Lobby. The 'wonder' is on foam tape, it's from a swap. The buttons are stickers from my stash.
Day 3:
LOVE how this turned out. The background paper was from a loaded bag, the washi on the right finished covering the paper. I added sequins to the middle of the designs, the washi on the bottom was on the bag that had the sequins, from a swap. The unicorn is from Tuesday Morning. The bow is from a swap.
Day 4:
I had just read a not so nice message on facebook and was not interested in creating. So, I just got out some paper and stickers. I do like it though. The fox and bee are from a fall sticker book. The butterfly on the left is from a swap. The circles are from Dollar Tree. The butterfly on the right is from my stash. The ribbon on the left is from a swap. The tulip is from Dollar Tree. The flowers at the bottom are from my stash. The jar is from a swap.
Day 5:
Also turned out cute. I was in a mermaid mood for something else, so I flattened out the net bag and used some floral paper to cover the sides. The bag was from Hobby Lobby, the floral paper is from a swap. The stars are from a swap. The flamingo is the front of a card someone sent me.
Day 6:
The teal piece is the back of the flamingo card, the triangle paper is from a loaded bag. The washi on the side is from a swap. The butterfly is from Dollar Tree. The flowers are from Hobby Lobby. The 'be lovely' is from Hobby Lobby.
Day 7:
I like the low color on this. The bird paper was on my desk and just a bit too small, so I added some book looking paper. The birds are from a swap, the book paper is from my stash. The arrow die cuts I got in a swap.
Day 8:
The flower background is a card. I found some washi from a recent swap that matched almost perfectly. I used some green washi to cover the sentiment, that's from an old swap. The heart and 'hello' are die cuts from a swap. The fox is from a sticker book.

Screw It & Do It Challenge last week

This was only a 15 day challenge, so I have a few left to show.
Day thirteen:
I'm not a big fan of this one. Sunday was a bad day, and it just didn't turn out great, but I got it done. I feel this should just be a the scraps on my desk challenge, because that's all I use. Anywho, again they are all scraps from my desk. The marbled washi was something I picked up at a garage sale.
Day fourteen:
I really love how this one turned out. The background is a scrap from a loaded bag swap and it fit almost perfectly on the page, I added some holographic looking tape to cover the paper, that I picked up at a garage sale. The banner at the top has been layered on some pink paper (it's from Hobby Lobby). I also added some bling from a swap to it. The 'peachy' is a rub on from Target, it was an afterthought.
Day fifteen:
This one is ok. It's all just random scraps that I put down. I colored the heart with some dye ink.

I won the Challenge, I'm not sure what that means, but I was to send my email address to the group's hostess.

I'm excited to do the next one. Ever since I started doing it in the notebook, I think it's a little more fun.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 2, Week 2

Day six:
More scraps from my desk. I used thin washi to cover the seams. Got the stamped image from a swap. I wanted to add something to the corners, and remembered this box of random sequins I got in a swap.
Day seven:
I really liked the color of this envelope. I wanted to use some some unicorn stickers I bought, but didn't like how they looked on the background. This unicorn was a wish granted. I picked out some washi for it to lie on. I liked the word believe from the unicorn sticker sheet, but not the speech bubble it was in so I spelled it out with some alphas I got.
Day eight:
The cherry blossom scrap just fit on so perfect I knew I needed to use it. I just added some pink to cover the rest of the page. I noticed the fairy die cut and added her with a little green glitter pen as repair. The letters are something I'm trying to get rid of.
Day nine:
I wanted to use my "found relatives" Tim Holtz ephemera. I just added the chevron paper as background with a rub on sentiment from Target and heart stickers from a Valentine's sheet from Hobby Lobby.
Day ten:
No plan here. I saw the background piece and it fit. The washi was on the desk (from a swap) and it matched. I saw the rub ons (from Target) and added those. Also saw the sequins (from Hobby Lobby) and liked the pop of color, had to add a little bling (from a swap) to cover the holes.
Day eleven:
Found this card on my floor (from a swap long ago), used the red washi to cover up part I cut out for a tag. Thought the jar sticker (from Walmart) looked good. The hearts and you & me are from a Valentine's Day kit (from Hobby Lobby). I layered the you & me on some pink for more color and added the butterfly (from Dollar Tree) to cover a spot.
Day twelve:
I had the background with the circle cut out of it. I added the doily to it to cover the empty spot. Who knows where the banner came from. I stapled it on and added a puffy zebra heart from a swap. I added an arrow on top of another one. The polar bear was part of a birthday RAK, I attached it with foam tape. I think it would have looked better without the doily.
