Birthday cards

I signed up to send some birthday mail to a couple ladies, and then decided it would be more fun if I made the cards instead of just sending pre made cards to them. So I made a couple tri fold cards.
First one, front:
It really just started with this embossed piece I got in a swap, and then when I was attaching it to this paper, it ripped, so I added the washi to cover the rips.
First flip:
And then kept adding washi. I cut some cards to cover the busy-ness of the paper. I'm excited that I used this paper, cause I'm not liking it as much as I wanted to. Also, they turned into tri fold cards because I was having a hard time trimming the paper down. On the left side I added some sticky notes and a cut apart. On the right side I added some stickers.
Inside:
I added this 'ATC', not really because it's too big, to the middle, and some stickers to the right side.
Back:
 Just some cute stickers.
Second card:
I cut the paper a little bigger, and framed it on the background paper. I used a journaling card for the front and wrote on it, also added some thin washi to it.
First flip:
The flower I fussy cut from a die cut and added the journaling card. I added another journaling card to the page on the right with some thin washi and a sticker.
Inside:
I wanted to make sure it said happy birthday somewhere, so added this cut apart and some stickers. The right side has another journaling card.
The back:
Some die cuts and stickers.
I really like how they turned out, maybe I'll make more.

Birthday/Spring Explosion box

One of my supervisor's birthday's was the other day and she has been so excited when I show her videos of these boxes, that I knew I had to make one for her. I bought a paper pad at Walmart last week and I told myself I could only buy it, if I used it for this box.
I didn't use as much as I thought I would. I love how springy it is.
Here's the box:
And the close-up photos. The outside/lid:
I used a pink cardstock for the base. The rosette is actually the top of a wand someone gave me, I thought it looked perfect. The flower stickers are from Hollar.com. I used some cloud washi (JoAnn's) for the lip of the box. I lined the outside of the box with this bright cheery flower paper.
First layer:
 Sides:
I used som scraps from cutting the boxes to layer up the sides. All the middle pieces are from the paper pad. The sentiment stickers are from Dollar Tree.
This side has a butterfly sticker from the Dollar Tree.
The butterfly is from the same sticker sheet as the words.
Second lid/box:
The stickers on the top are from a sticker pad from Walmart. I spelled out Happy Birthday around the lip with cut aparts from the paper pad. The sides are covered with striped paper from Hobby Lobby.
 Sides:
Again I used scraps from cutting the box layered with cut aparts from the paper pad.

  Third box/lid:
The "happy spring" is a chipboard sticker from Target. These flower stickers are from the same sticker sheet as the ones on the outside lid. I used some sun/cloud paper for the lip of the box and some flower paper from a stash for the sides.
Opened:
This is the first time I've decorated the middle of the box.
I wanted a "Happy Birthday" on this layer, so I broke off the top of this flower pic and hot glued it down. I added some tiny Eastery figurines to keep it standing up. The ribbon flowers, both pink ones, are from Hobby Lobby and the blue flowers are from a swap. I love how it turned out, I might start doing this for future boxes.
Sides:
Again with using the paper scraps to layer up the sides. The stickers are actually from a sticker pad from Hobby Lobby. The 'good times' is from the sticker sheet that was used in the first layer.
 Love this sticker.
The bottom sticker is from the same sticker pad as the stickers on top of the second lid.
LOVE how it all turned out and my supervisor was pretty happy with it as well. I like doing more seasonal versus birthday boxes. I'm kinda running out of birthday stuff even after stocking up every time I see it.

Birthday cards

My boss's birthday was at the end of September, as was one of my co workers, so I made them cards.
Here's my boss's:
It's an envelope card, so when you fold it up, it looks like an envelope. I used some book spines paper for the front, along with some words to spell out her name.
Here it is all folded up:
I had this planned out perfectly, I had this paper so it lined up when opened, not thinking about how it would be upside down when folded up. I used the book washi to close it, but of course it wouldn't stay closed, so I had to wrap some twine around it as well.
Here's the inside:
I realized as I was making this, I'm glad I was giving it to her in person as there is three layers of cardstock on it, it was pretty heavy. My boss is a tea drinker, so I tried to go with a tea theme on the inside. I had to add the pink/purple washi (from Dollar Tree) to cover the whole inside piece. The 'the best chats are over a cup of tea' piece is from a journaling card. The 'happy birthday' piece I took out of a card from a swap. I realized I don't have a lot of birthday stuff when I was making this. I wanted a not so busy background, so I picked the daisy paper for it. The left side says Happiness is something that multiplies when shared, it was from a journaling card that I layered on some pink paper. The top has a teapot sticker (by Mary Engelbreit from a thrift store, as well as the teapot on the bottom), with a sticker that says Enjoy your life (from Dollar Tree). The right side has some teacups (from JoAnn's) with a sticker that says Happy girls are the prettiest-Audrey Hepburn (from a Peachy Cheap grabbag). The bottom says Do what makes you happy (from a journaling card) and a teapot.
Here's the one I made for my co-worker:
I wanted something simple because I know she doesn't like elaborate. The background is from a swap. The middle piece is from Hobby Lobby. I used some star buttons from my stash to make a bundle of balloons with a 'make a wish' sentiment.

I like making cards, I just am really bad at getting them done before people's birthdays.

Envelope birthday card

One of my co-worker's birthdays was last Saturday, so I created an envelope flip book/birthday card for her:
I used double sided paper for the envelope. I spelled out her name in alpha stickers on the top flap with a tag that said 'dream'. The right flap has a sticker that I layered on pink paper. The bottom flap has another sticker that says 'joy' and one that is a heart. The left flap has a butterfly sticker. The middle has a die cut I got in a swap with a birthday sticker on it, I also put a sticker of a pot of flowers on it. All the stickers are from Dollar Tree. She said she doesn't celebrate her birthday, so I went more shabby chic-ish instead of birthday.
Here's what it looks like closed:
I just added a sticker from Hobby Lobby.

June Birthday card

Cat's Crafty Corner on youtube had a June challenge to make a masculine birthday card for her significant other.
Here's what I created
I'm not that great at making cards, and probably worse at making masculine cards. For this one, I used an old ledger page for the background. I distressed it with ink. I added some brown lined paper and a vintage photograph.

Birthday card

One of my supervisors' birthdays was this past Monday, so I made her an envelope flipbook card. I'm loving making these envelope flip books.
This is the outside. I used a piece of blue cardstock as the background, and since you can't put the template on the paper straight to get it to fit on the paper, I had to cut out this piece because I specifically wanted it to say "Happy Birthday" on the outside.
Here's the inside:
I don't have close-ups. Basically I covered the inside with a paper that had presents all over it. I added her name in stickers to the top flap. The right flap has a circle I cut out of a journaling card, it says "start each day with a smile" I just brushed the edges with some purple ink. The bottom flap, I cut the piece out of a journaling card as well, it says "Blow out the candles", I edged it with brown ink. The left flap has another piece I cut out of a journaling card, it says "Part of cultivating a good life is determining one thing you can do today that will make it better than yesterday", I layered it on some pink paper. All the details on the flaps are stuck on with foam tape. The middle, I added some colored chevron paper with some banner stickers from Dollar Tree and some balloons I stamped in different colors, I also added some cupcake washi at the bottom. It's rather plain from what I normally, but since she doesn't craft, I didn't really know what to do with it. She was very touched by it.
I think it's funny that I love making cards for my co-workers, but my mother's birthday is on Monday, and I'm not really wanting to make a card for her. Mostly because I think she expects it. She thinks I have all this time on my hands and I should make her a card because I'm crafty.

Birthday cards

I signed up for a birthday card swap on one of my facebook groups. We were supposed to make 2 birthday cards and send them to our partner. I signed up for two partners, here's what I made:
The top one has washi tape banner on the top with a project life card cut down to fit and washi tape cupcakes on the bottom (both washi's are from the Dollar Tree).
The second one has a background from a pad of paper I picked up at a garage sale. The 'happy birthday' banners are from a chipboard sticker sheet from Hobby Lobby, I just added some washi cupcakes to the bottom (the washi is from Hobby Lobby).
The top one is just scraps from my stash, the top and bottom pieces are washi I got in a swap. The 'celebrate' is also washi I got in a swap.
The bottom one is a project life card cut down layered on some cupcake paper I got from Hobby Lobby.
Here's what I got back:
The top two, my partner included numbers to add to customize the cards. I love how the bottom one opens.
Here's what I got from my second partner:
I love how she used die cuts.

Birthday Card

My supervisor's birthday was April 24th, so I made her a tiny birthday card. I used some journaling cards I've gotten in swaps. I bound them with some Scotch washi and rounded the corners.
The front:
I added some glitter washi from Dollar Tree and some flatback pearls from a swap.
When you flip this one up:
The top, I added a "Happy Birthday" stamp, layered it on some pink paper and embellished it with jewels. The bottom card I just added a flower jewel to it.
When you flip the bottom one down:
The middle one, I just added some enamel stars I got from Spellbinders. On the bottom one I added some Dollar Tree stickers.
The back:
I added a rose that I cut out of a book, and a handmade stamp.

Birthday card

Tuesday, was my friend's birthday, so I made a simple but cute card for her:
She likes chickens and when I saw this on one of my day-by-day calendars I thought it'd be great. I just fussy cut it out and attached it to some cardstock. The washi and sentiment are from Dollar Tree.
She said she really liked it.
