Another mini flip book

I'm loving these project life flip books. I think it's because of the small size, I'm more used to this size. I made a second one for one of my supervisor's birthday. For this one I doubled my cards, I couldn't find any where I liked both sides.
This is the front:
The card just had the Hello on it. The letters are kinda sparkly.
When you open it:
 close-ups:
I love that this quote is by J.K. Rowling, I didn't notice that at first. If you didn't know, I work at a library, so this is perfect. I know the coffee cup washi doesn't really go with the card, but I know she likes coffee and I loved how it turned out.
The bottom card:
I added the words from something I got in the mail. The dessert person is from a Stampin' up set.
When you flip the above card down:
 close-ups:
I covered up the banner on this card, it had originally said 'celebrate' and since the card above it says that, I thought it was a bit much. I used some pink script washi and a gold word sticker.
This is the card. I didn't do anything to it.
When you flip the cupcake card to the left:
 close-ups:
I didn't do anything to this card.
I added a handmade banner embellishment and a butterfly sticker.
When you flip this card to the right:
close-ups:
The words are from a sticker set. The present is from a chipboard sticker set, I had taken off most of the background to thin it out. The book was not closing very well with dimension, I tried to keep it as flat as possible.
I added the 'Happy birthday' from the same sticker set as the cupcake card above. This cupcake is from a sheet of sticker cupcakes from Hobby Lobby, I added a puffy cherry stickers. I put this card on top of the washi tape to keep the words from being covered. After I had attached all the washi, I thought next time I should have put the washi on and then doubled the cards, it would have made the washi a little stronger.
This washi is from the Target Dollar Spot, I've decided it's not the strongest washi and I shouldn't use it for flip books, at least not to keep the cards together.

Most of these cards are from some birthday project life cards I picked up at a garage sale, they match a chipboard sticker sheet that the present sticker came from. As I said above, I tried to keep it as flat as possible. I don't know if it was the washi or the smaller surface, but this washi did not want to stay. I even used my tape runner to stick some of it down. The other one I used pink washi from JoAnn's and that is very sticky.

I'm thinking of trying a flip book with the larger project life cards next. I just don't like that they don't have any quotes. I also should be packing, I haven't done much of that in the last week. I have one more swap and a flip book I'm making for a friend's birthday, then I don't have any more creative obligations, I'm not planning to sign up for anything until after I move.

Birthday Flip Book for my Mother

One of the FB groups I'm a member of recently had a Project Life flip book swap. I didn't get to participate, but after looking at their pictures, I was inspired to make one for my mother. I recently got a great deal on Project Life cards (go here), and I've been wondering what to do with them.
I decided to create a Birthday flip book for my mother. Here's the front:
The card said Remember this moment. I covered up the "this moment" with some washi I got in a PL, the 'happiness' sticker is from an old sticker sheet. I created the embellishment at the bottom by cutting some flags out of scraps, adding a button and a word sticker. I also added some vintage lace.
When you flip that one up:
 close-ups:
The top on I layered the quote cut from another card on some white cardstock and some leftover scraps from another one.
This one is layered on another card, I liked this quote but didn't want to cut it out. I added some pink washi and cupcake ribbon.
When you flip this one down:
 Close-ups:
I had bought this 'thinking of you' piece at a garage sale. I added it to a piece of brown cardstock and added some pink striped washi on it.
This heart was from a swap in another of my FB groups, I added washi to the top that says 'enjoy today!' on it.
When you flip the thinking of you one to the left:
 close-ups:
The create is from another card, I created a pocket and stuck this cross-stitch balloon piece inside.

Both these quotes are from project life cards.
When you flip this card to the right:
 close-ups:
The cupcake is a thick sticker, the 'happy birthday' is a sticker made to look like a label maker made it. I also added 'celebrate' in blur sparkly stickers at the top.
this is another project life card. I added a little washi to the top and bottom
This is the back. I will add a handmade by me to it.

What I've been working on

I've been sorting and packing lately, today, I decided I needed to do something crafty.
So I finished three pocket letters. First up, Robots:
That middle piece was pink, my robots wouldn't have gone with it, but I really wanted to use it, so I painted it.
This is made from a couple sheets of robot stickers layered on paper.
Bugs:
Remember this post, the sticker book was these stickers. Ever since I saw the sticker book, I've been wanting to create a PL with it, so I did.
Last one, hot air balloons and flying:
Top row: stickers on polka dot background, part of a PL card, handwritten words and a balloon sticker, hot air balloon PL card.
Middle row: chipboard balloon stickers, steampunk hot air balloon sticker, a balloon PL card with part of another card.
Bottom: random background, trimmed PL card, chipboard hot air balloon sticker. I also added a PL card to the front of the pockets.
I LOVE this one. Sadly, most everything on it is from swaps or garage sales, I couldn't remake it if I wanted to.
Handmade embellishments are a big thing right now, so I tried making some with my decorative edge scissors.
 And some more
I'm planning on adding punches, some flags and words to these

 These, I made with punches:
I plan to add some words. I really like these.

My boss' birthday was on the 2nd, and she likes elephants. Apparently, I have a lot of elephant things, so I made her a flip book/card:
This first page has an elephant note sticker with a couple words, a vellum quote and some balloon washi tape. I also added a star paper clip to the top.
After you flip it open:
 a couple close-ups
I used some star stickers from a swap, a candle from a project life card, I spelled out "Make a wish" with alphabet stickers. The blue elephant is a sticker, the other elephant is from some washi tape.
The next page:
The top elephant was received in Ginnie's PL, the red elephant was drawn for me, the elephant with balloon was in a baby paper kit, the quote is from the elephant washi tape, I also used the balloon washi on this one.
After you flip the above page open
 close-ups:
This was on the tissue paper Cynthia wrapped her PL in, the "happy birthday" is from a box that stickers came in.
This quote was on the back of a PL that I bought at a garage sale.

My boss told me today, she really loved the card.

Happy Mail

My last post was all about these great flipbooks I made for my friend Amanda, check out the video she made on them:

I love how she reacts. Every time I feel crappy I watch her videos of the stuff I've sent her. You should all check out her channel. Sometime in the future, I feel I might be sending her more butterflies and owls.

I feel it's been awhile since I posted what people have sent me. Most of these are from the group I'm a part of on Facebook. It's called Pocket Letters for Beginners.
This one is from Nancy. I picked it up before going to work, so this picture is on my desk at work
She did a seaside theme. I love the fish, they are actually 3D wooden fish, I don't know what they were in their previous life, but the one in the top right corner is affixed to a paperclip. The dog at the bottom is on the outside of the letter, and the straws are real little straws in his drink. His lei, is sequin flowers.
This next one is from Ginnie, she had someone fall through, so I got this great elephant pocket letter. I love how she had it wrapped up:
And the front is stuffed with elephants. The paper underneath is peanuts. I really like the typewriter piece in the middle.
 Here's the back:
I love the paper she used.

This one is from Susie, we decided to do an Under the Sea theme. Here's hers all wrapped up:
 And the front:
She included some shark teeth she had collected in the goodies.

This one is from Jamie. Here it is all wrapped up:
 And the front:
I love the burlap rose on the top. She said she was a beginner and not to hold that against her. I love it.

I signed up to do a Goody Bag swap in another Facebook swap. Basically, we were to fill a snack size ziploc with goodies and send them off to our partners.
This one, I received on Saturday, it was a nice surprise, from Megan:
I love those critter stickers, and I used some of those word stickers in a PL already.

Today, I had 3 packages in the mail.
This first one is from Maria, it's 3D stickers and some washi samples.

This next one was a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from Ginnie.
A RAK, is just sending something fun to a friend. I consider the package I sent Amanda, a RAK. It's just fun to get something you weren't expecting in the mail.
This last one was another goody bag from Pam:

And that is my happy mail. Anyone else getting anything fun in the mail?
