June Birthday card

Cat's Crafty Corner on youtube had a June challenge to make a masculine birthday card for her significant other.
Here's what I created

I'm not that great at making cards, and probably worse at making masculine cards. For this one, I used an old ledger page for the background. I distressed it with ink. I added some brown lined paper and a vintage photograph.

Birthday Challenge

One of the channels I watch on youtube, Cat's Crafty Corner, had a birthday challenge for her May birthday. I planned to send her a card, but you know how time gets away from you? I did end up sending her a card and a gift, it just got there a little late.
Here's what I made for her:

 I thought this card turned out so cute.
I just put two pieces of paper on a blank card with a little washi in the middle to cover the seam. The girl image is from a swap as are the flowers. It's so cute and simple and I wish I could make another one.
I also sent her an altered mini composition book:

Remember this post? I had asked for three partners, but only got two. Since I bought a three-pack of the books, I went ahead and altered the third one as well.
I LOVE how this turned out. The background is from a garage sale, the flower paper on the edge is from my stash, the washi on the bottom is from Dollar Tree. The teacups are actually from a card that I bought for the teacups from Dollar Tree.
Again, I wish I had the materials to make another one of these.

Loaded bag for Linda

One of my regular swappers on YouTube was wanting stamps and stencils, so I thought I'd make her a loaded bag because it's so much more fun to send stuff that way.
Halloween is her favorite holiday, so I did a Halloween themed bag.
The front:

 I covered the bag with this zig zag paper I found in my stash. I just put a few embellishments on it. I added the 'spooky' card to the top, I trimmed it down and ran some ink over the sides. I added the eyeball ribbon to the top of the front pocket and the jack-o-lantern paper.
The back:

I made a belly band from some banner paper. I also added the cat stickers and the sticky notes to it.
I don't have a picture of what I sent her. There were some stamp sets I received in other swaps, some Halloween notebooks, a couple tags I made her, some stickers and a sad wand. There's also some paperclips and a clothespin as well as that strange black skeleton on the front.

Easter Pocket Letter Project Share

I've been watching Missy at Do What You Love for awhile. Periodically, she has these things called project shares which are basically swaps. This one is an Easter pocket letter.

Here's what I sent:

You were supposed to make 9 identical or almost identical cards, she will swap yours out with 8 other people and send it back.
The background paper is from Hobby Lobby. I added some pink washi from Target at the bottom, with some stamped word banners on top. The stamp is from Target, the paper I used for them is from JoAnn's. I went really simple with decorations. The eggs are felt and from my stash. The bugs are from Dollar Tree. Sadly, I ran out of the pink egg, so I had to use a different one on the last card.

I love how different every one is. I have cards from NC, MO, Puerto Rico, NY, PA and HI.
I'm excited to participate in the next project share.

Spring pocket letters

I signed up to do a Spring pocket letter swap through Megan W's channel on YouTube, I decided to do three swaps. Here's what I sent out:

I admit this one is a little busy for me, but I like it and I hope my partner does, too. I had a hard time doing this one, I'm not sure why. The background is flowers. I added some washi I got in a swap to the side.

First row: I put a "spring" banner across the top, it's actually from some Easter stickers I picked up last year from Target and never used. I used some fuzzy chick stickers I got in a swap, there's one on the first card and one on the last card. The middle card has a chick from Walmart.

Second row, first card: I layered a stamp from Hobby lobby on some yellow paper and framed it with butterfly stickers from Walmart. Second card: I used a rosette from Dollar Tree. Third card: both stickers from Walmart.

Last row, first card: flowers from Walmart, second card: flower sticker from a swap bunny stickers from Walmart, last card: not sure where the flower sticker is from, chick sticker from a swap.

Second PL:

 This one also didn't come together that easily either. I had these girl images that I had cut out of an activity book from Dollar Tree that I wanted to use, but I couldn't get them to flow like I wanted to. The washi on the side is from Walmart. The background is a grey paper from Hobby Lobby.
The hearts are foam glittery stickers from Hobby Lobby. The banner is a cardstock sticker from Hobby Lobby. The butterfly stickers are from my stash. The trim is felt from Dollar Tree. The flowers are from a swap. The moped came from the same sticker sheet as the banner above.
Last one:

The background is a striped paper from K & Company. The washi on the side is glittery from Dollar Tree. I used a set of foam stickers I got from Target and some word pieces I bought at a thrift store that are K & Company. I added some buttons for the centers of some of the flowers.

 I love how she put the flowers on the side, they are not covering up the pocket page's holes, so I could still put it in my binder. I believe the letters are wall decals from Dollar Tree.

 I love that she used butterflies. I also love those flower stickers, I saw them at Michael's the other day and didn't buy them, ugh.

Valentine's Day Tag Swap

I signed up to do a tag swap through scrapping2010. Here's my first attempt:

I wanted to do something cute, but these ended up looking somewhat sad and way too flat for me. So, I'm giving them to friends. The whale stamp is from Micheal's, the letter stamps are from Target, I might have to trim them, so I don't get all the excess.
Here's what I ended up sending in:

I wanted to do something a little less traditional. The paper is double sided. The bling is from my 12 Days of Christmas swap. The large hearts are foam stickers from Hobby Lobby, I added them to white cardstock for a little more something, I don't know. I didn't like the look of the hearts on the paper and wanted something white in there. I cut around them with decorative scissors. The blue paper is actually packaging from Dollar Tree washi that I  just added some stickers to. The hearts on the top are puffy stickers from Walmart. We had to have a brad on the tags, so I added one heart brad to the center of the puffy hearts.
The groups are of 3, so I made a smaller one for myself. I added eyelets and strings to the holes.

Pocket letter from Karlene

Remember, back in November I posted this? I got the return pocket letter in the mail last week. Here's what Karlene made me, this is what came tumbling out of the envelope:

 Here's the pocket letter:

 I love the ribbons she attached to the top and that sparkly bow paperclip. I also love that shaker pocket (I'll let you all in on a little secret, I'm not really a big fan of shakers, mostly because people just close them with washi and they spill out. I do like them when they are closed with a fuse tool and I don't have to worry about spillage). Obviously Karlene has a fuse tool and everything stayed in the pocket. I love how simple and elegant this pocket letter is.

 I really love that ribbon paper clip and the punches she sent me.
Here's what was in the pink envelope:

 Tons more punches. I believe they are punches and not die cuts, but I don't really know. I love getting punches and die cuts. I love seeing how people make handmade embellishments (there are a few in the picture) and trying my hand at making some myself. I have a 1" circle punch and a couple smaller flower punches. I keep thinking about buying a heart punch, but I haven't yet.
