Valentine's File Folder Pocket Letter

I signed up for another file folder pocket letter swap, this time it's a Vintage Valentine theme:

 I used a manila folder as the background. I used some vintagey looking paper to cover the front and back. I covered the staples with Valentine's washi. The 'be mine' came from a bag I got at TJ Maxx last year. The scallop part at the top is from the same bag. I added some vintage trim to the bottom of the front.

 I'll admit I had a hard time finding vintage stuff for this, even though I was wicked pumped for the theme. I found this vintage wedding print in one of my paper pads, I put it on some pink paper and made a pocket with it. I added some rose trim to the bottom. That card on the front is vintage. I added some mulberry paper hearts, a cupcake pick and another heart to the pocket.
Pocket letter:

 The background is a heart paper I picked up at a garage sale. I used some vintage photos, some vintagey looking ephemera and some retro girls. I put a small burlap heart behind every piece, and tried to accentuate every card. For the first card, I added the 'kisses' sticker, the second card has a love piece on foam tape, the third card I added a cork heart sticker on top of the heart on the automobile. Second row first card, I added the envelope, the middle has a little magnetic bookmark that I added the sparkly heart to, the third card has a jar of hearts. Third row first card I added the 'forever' sticker, the second card has a 'valentine' sticker and the last card has a 'cute' sticker.
Back of pocket letter:

 I added some ribbon, white hearts, some hot air balloon sticker, vintage journaling spots, washi, mulberry paper, tiny paper envelopes and some alphas.
Back page:

 I couldn't find anything to really add here, so I put the back of the card from the front page.
Back cover:

There was a big empty space in the middle of the page, so I added this foam heart and the embellished doily.

 I'm a little bummed that she didn't actually decorate the pocket letter. It's just paper cut for the pockets.

I was so excited when I opened the package, I just wish it was more decorated. It also isn't really geared at Valentine's Day, it could just be a vintage one.

Winter Wonderland File Folder pocket letter Part II

I hope you're ready to be inundated with posts. I finally got out of my slump and created quite a few things this week.
Anywho, here's what I got from my partner for the Winter Wonderland File Folder pocket letter.

Also, apparently it's a thing to use a sticker on a sheet and then send the sheet to your partner as part of the goodies. I mean, I do that too, but I cut out the empty spot, so you can't tell I just sent you the leftovers. This is the second or third time where my partners sent me the sheet with the empty spots on them.

Winter Wonderland file folder pocket letter

In order to get posts up sooner and so they're not so long, I'm posting what I made and what I got in return in separate posts. I also hope it gets me to post the stuff I made quicker.
I'm loving these file folder pocket letters, so am trying to sign up for every one I see. This one was supposed to be a winter wonderland theme, that's whatever I thought of as a winter wonderland:

 I used another manila envelope as my base. I had this tree from a gift bag I picked up at Dollar Tree for another one of these. I just fussy cut it out and added little yellow gems to each of the candle flames.
Inside:

 I had recently bought a pack of mixed loose 12x12 papers at Hobby Lobby, there were 4 sheets of this woodland forest paper in it. I added another one of those hot chocolate treat bags from Dollar Tree to it.
Pocket letter:

 I had picked up this loose page at Hobby Lobby for a different pocket letter, but it didn't work out. It's cardstock with foiled snowflakes. I started at the bottom with the button cut out trees and the foam trees. I added some more trees to the pocket letter cards. The middle just has some winter wonderland creatures. The top has a flying dove from an envelope, some rub on mice pieces and a cardinal sticker. I also added more snowflakes on top of the ones already on the paper throughout. There is a wooden one, some 3D stickers, some gems, some metallic stickers.
The goodies:

 I added some cupcake liners, tea, words, stickers, washi, twine, and some erasers.

 I started doing this with the first pocket letters I made and then for some reason stopped. I'm trying to do it again. I just pick some paper that goes with the theme and use it to cover the goodies in the back. It's not like I don't have enough paper. This one is candy canes from a Winter Wonderland paper pad from Hobby Lobby.
Back page:

 Here's that woodland forest paper again. I put some snowflake straw decorations on it with some 3D stickers I got in a swap. I also created the snowglobe. It's the cover from a sticker book, so I covered up the writing with some woodgrain paper and metallic ric rac. I love how it turned out. I also tried to add some embellishment to the snowflakes so it wasn't so flat. I added some 'Christmas lights' along the border as well.

I didn't do anything other than add some snowman paper and washi to cover up the folder.
Like I said, I love these swaps and will continue doing them. I think it's a fun way to do a pocket letter.

Christmas file folder pocket letter

I signed up for another file folder pocket letter because they are so fun to make.
Here's what I made:

 I covered the front with plaid paper for the background and this large Santa. My original thought was to have a large Santa on the front, but I couldn't find one I liked. I was in Dollar Tree the other day and saw this one on a large gift bag and thought it would work great.
Here's the inside:

 I took some scraps to cover the the inside. I liked the look, but now looking at the picture, I feel I should have covered the whole inside of the file folder. I added this gift bag also from Dollar Tree as the inside pocket, I thought it'd be more fun than a regular glassine bag.
The pocket letter:

 I put some die cut ornaments I got in a swap on some paper and cut it up to fit the pocket letter, there were some empty spots that I added some stickers too. I also added the santa washi to the bottom:
The goodies

 I put a letter in that blank spot, there's stickers, sticky notes, washi, stamped images, paper clips, sequins, tea and some tiny felt hats.
Inside back of the file folder:

 I never know what to do with this, I just covered it with paper and attached the sticky notes.

I love how this paper looks on here, I'm not a huge fan of the paper itself.

Mermaid file folder pocket letter

One of my facebook groups had a swap for a mermaid themed file folder pocket letter and it sounded interesting. Basically you take a file folder, staple a pocket letter inside it and decorate.

I picked up a plain file folder from the bookstore for a whopping 20 cents. Someone said they were going to send one to me, it never showed up and she said she'd send out a 2nd one, never saw it, so I just bought one at the book store. I also picked up a mermaid coloring book to use on this:

Here's the front:

I painted the file folder with some blue and green paint that I've had forever. I used to always pick up paint when it was on clearance on JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby, but I don't really use it anymore. After stapling in my pocket letter, I covered up the staples with this shiny green tape from Dollar Tree. The grouping in the corner is from a swap. I colored the mermaid with some crayons and used a marker for her hair. I also added my partner's name in gold letters.

 The videos I watched added an envelope to this page. I remembered this gift bag I got at TJ Maxx, so I cut it in half and glued it in. I put my bigger goodies in here. At the top I added some leftover paper from the back page. I also added some washi from Michael's on the side.
Here's the pocket letter:

 I think I need to take a step back from mermaid stuff for awhile. This pocket letter is very flat, it's just all stickers with a die cut in the middle pocket. I added some sandy looking paper to the bottom with some sea stickers. The 'wonder' is a chipboard sticker from my stash. All the sea creature stickers are from Dollar Tree. The top two mermaids are from Michael's. The die cut is from a swap and the bottom mermaid is from Dollar Tree. I'm not as excited about this as I am about the file folder.

I included some tags, a lot of mermaid/under the sea themed stickers, some green/blue washi, and a pile of sticky notes.

The background looks like weathered wood, it's from the Newsworthy paper pad from Hobby Lobby. The sea turtles I cut out of a card. The heart shape is from a swap. The die cuts are from a swap. The mermaid is from Dollar Tree. The crab sticker is from Dollar Tree.
Here's the back of the folder:

I just put down a lot of water themed paper, covered up some ugly spots with other paper and added the whale sticker.

I love the coloring technique and the use of the Graphic 45 paper.
