Halloween Index cards

I signed up to make some Halloween index cards in one of my groups, here's what I came up with:

The background is packaging from some stickers. I had the bird sticker from Hobby Lobby last year, it's a clear sticker so I put it on white paper and attached it to the background with foam tape. I thought it kinda looked like a raven, so I spelled out 'nevermore' in gold glittery letters. It needed something else, so I added the foam bat stickers from Walmart.

I love how this one turned out. The background is from my stash. The witch girl I got in a swap years ago. The 'boo' banner is from a swap. I wanted to add some color, so I accented her dress and hat and the banner with some purple glitter glue from Hollar. I thought the tombstone was a cute touch, it's from Dollar Tree.

Screw It and Do It Challenge 2, week one

I signed up for the Screw It and Do It Challenge on one of my groups.
Day 1:

 I again, decided to go with the index cards. This one has a bunch of scraps as the background. The foam stars are from Goodwill, the felt flower is from Hobby Lobby, the 'hello' sticker is from my stash as is the dog sticker, the black cording is from a swap.
I'm not that excited about this one, but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me.
Day 2:

 Again with the scraps for the background. The clock is from a project life card from Walmart, the frame is a resin like frame it was originally a baby sticker from Hobby Lobby, I put a piece of pink paper over the back of the frame and added an owl key from Hobby Lobby. The trim on the side is from a swap.
Again, not so excited about it.
Day 3:

 The wavy sparkly washi is from a swap. The firework paper was leftover from a patriotic pocket letter. The heart is from a calendar page. The white star sequins and the gold star sequin are all from a swap.
I like this one except for the washi on the side.
Day 4:

The chevron paper is left over from an under the sea flip book. The top blue is actually some skinny washi from a swap. The blue flower is from a swap, I just added a handmade embellishment (also from a swap) on top of it. The pink flower is a die cut from a swap, I have no idea where the white flower came from. The bee is a sticker from Hobby Lobby. The 'wonder' is a sticker from my swap.
I like this one.
Day 5:

I bought a small notebook and have decided to start doing these in there. The background paper is magenta foiled with tiny black cacti all over it, it was used as an address label on a package. The cake I had printed out last July for a birthday flip book. The hearts at the top are a sticker from Dollar Tree as is the circle.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, last day

Day 15:

 Pink background, houses from a journaling card, lawn chair sticker, bunny sticker, hello sticker, butterfly sequin, lace on top.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one, I feel there needs to be something in the middle, but I don't know what.
So, today was the last day of the challenge, here are all my cards:

I think it was a fun challenge, though some days it seemed more of a chore than fun. There's only two cards I'm not really excited about, the one with the foam animals, and the one with the stamping, they're just too plain for me.

Most days I just used the scraps on my desk (there's a lot of scraps on my desk), I didn't really have a plan, sometimes I had a starting point, and then everything just came together. 

I'm tempted to keep going, I'm guessing my group might do it again, as they were doing one when I joined the group. My original plan was to make the index cards and send them out with some of my happy mail, but I kinda want to just collect them all somewhere, but I'd probably never look at them again. I don't know, maybe I'll keep my most favorite ones and send the rest out. If you're interested in one, let me know.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day fourteen

Day 14:

The background is just a piece of paper from my desk, I added the washi on the bottom because the blue paper wasn't quite big enough. I wanted to use this Dollar Tree lace sticker, so I put it on some pink paper and cut it out (that took most of my 10 minutes). I added it to the sparkly green egg and put a Hobby Lobby sticker.
This one is OK, it was kinda just putting a lot of things together and hope they looked good.

Screw It and Do It, Day thirteen

Day 13:

The background is a vintage fabric, I added the lace at the bottom (from my stash) and layered some more lace on top of it (from a swap). The ballerina I just got in a swap, I added a little sequin trim to her sash and a flower.
I LOVE how this one turned out, I still love doing things with fabric, I just don't do much hand sewing anymore. The last time I started some, my hand cramped up rather quickly, so I stopped. I love how all the blues seem to go together with the ballerina.

Day 12:

The background is from my stash, as is the banner sticker on the top. The bug is from Dollar Tree, the butterfly is from a swap, the pearls are from my stash, the washi is from Tuesday Morning, the sequins are from a swap.

After finishing about 4 swaps so I could mail them out, this is the last creative thing I did tonight. I wanted to go more of a mermaid way because I just finished a mermaid tag, but the sticker didn't fit. I also thought the sheet this bug was on was fairies. I had another butterfly die cut in mind, but I breathed and it disappeared. I really like how this one turned out.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day eleven

Day 11:

Basically everything is just scraps from my desk.

I've decided it's way more fun to just start grabbing scraps and see where it takes me. I wanted to do something more vintage-ish. I think I spent most of my time, just staring at my desk and deciding what to do.

Day 10:

Bottom paper is from a note, the top paper is from an envelope, the blue ribbon (from JoAnn's) is just to cover the seam. The pink card was laying on my desk. The 'summer dreams' is part of some washi from a swap. The birdhouse sticker is from a swap. The stars are also from a swap.
I admit, I went back and fixed this one. It originally had a vellum pocket on top of the purple paper, I was going to make the pink card a tag to go in it, then I decided I didn't like it. My timer went off as I was pulling the pocket back off. I stuck the pink card afterward.
I was on my way to bed when I remembered I had to do this. OK, I don't have to do it, but it's fun.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day nine

Day 9:

The green on the sides is washi from Tuesday Morning. The middle is a journaling card cut down, I'm sure I got it in a swap. The sequins are from Hobby Lobby, the bling was in my stash. The only reason the butterfly (from Walmart) is on there, is because it was stuck to my arm.
I went shopping with a friend this day, and was wicked tired when I got home. This took basically no time, I used most of my time cleaning up. It reminds me of a watermelon.

Day 8:

I had a really busy day and was exhausted, so I just inked up the background again and added some stickers (from a swap and Hobby Lobby) and some words.

I went back to do that background again. I worked until 9:15 that night and was just tired, so I just kinda whipped this together. The bathtub sticker was from a swap and I knew it needed to be turned into something like this.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day seven

Day 7:

 I just used some more of that stamp set from Peachy Cheap, this is the first time I used it, I love it. I added some grass washi to the bottom (from JoAnns) and some stickers all around it (the frog was from Dollar tree, the puffy ones are Sticko as is the purple butterfly and the green butterfly).

I don't like this one, it's too plain for me. I don't remember what I did on this day, but I wanted to try out the new stamp set.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day six

Day 6:

 I had a fun time inking up the background. The fabric washi at the bottom is from a swap, the stickers at the top are from Dollar Tree. The jar is from a stamp set I got from Peachy Cheap, the star stickers are from a garage sale.

I miss doing backgrounds like this, I used to do them quite a bit. I really like this one, except for the brightly colored stars in the jar. I won't do anything to change it though. This is the first time I used the stamp set. I had gotten two clear stamp sets in the Peachy Cheap grab bag, the other being Happy Birthday sentiments. I haven't had the greatest luck with that stamp set, so I was a little hesitant to use this one, but it worked much better.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day five

Day 5:

The background is from a loaded bag. The pink strip is from a pink and black flip book. The trim and bee were just on my desk. The green triangles are rub ons from Target.
I wanted to do something to highlight the hot air balloon on the background paper, but couldn't figure out what. Most of my time was taken up by fussy cutting that bee, I would have liked it more if I had the actual stamp instead of a stamped image. I think it would have looked better to stamp it directly on the background. I also think this needs more color, I might go back and add some.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day four

Day 4:

 The black piece is from my pink and black flip book. The triangle piece is from some gift bags. The flowers are from a RAK. The mason jar is from Walmart. The heart sticker is from Dollar Tree.
I like how this one turned out, except for the heart floating out of the jar. I didn't have enough time to go through my stickers and find a better one. I really wanted to put a big one at the corner with a trail of smaller hearts leading back to the jar.

Day 3:

 The washi is from JoAnn's. The foam pieces are from Goodwill. The flower/sun is from Target.
I'm not liking this one near as much. I wanted to use the foam pieces I had just bought on Friday, but I couldn't think of a great way to use them. This is also the first time I used the washi, they came in a pack of two together at JoAnn's, they are part of the $1.99 collection.

 I covered the background with paper from Hobby Lobby. I added some washi I got in a swap. The teacup is from a card I bought at Dollar Tree. The bird is from a swap. The flowers are from a RAK.

Screw It and Do It Challenge, Day one

One of my facebook groups had a challenge where we created for 10 minutes each day starting July 7th. I bought a set of index cards to create on. I basically just took items off of my desk because it was faster than looking for items.
Day 1:

 I had just made a summer flip book and had a lot of strips of paper lying around. I also added a tiny bit of green washi to the top. The 'ticket' was also left over from the flip book. The flip flops are a sticker from Dollar Tree.

Flower swap

On one of my facebook groups, Paper Crafting Friends, I signed up to do a Spring ATCs swap as well as a Flower themed 3x5 index card swap, I got the same partner for both of them. Here's what I made her:

 For the ATCs, we just had to create Spring ones. I couldn't figure out spring really meant to me. I wanted to make them just spring themed, even though most anything could mean spring.
First card: I used some Target packaging for the background, added the 'you are amazing' piece (from a swap) and the rose stamp that I paper pieced.
Second card: this background is from a thank you card someone sent me. I added some bug stickers (from a swap) and spelled out the word 'spring' with stickers (from Walmart).
Third card: The background was left over from making pocket letters (from Hobby Lobby). I added some turtle washi (from a swap), a kite sticker (from Dollar Tree), bee stickers (from my stash), some butterfly stickers (from my stash) and the word 'amazing' (from JoAnn's).
Here are the index cards:

 I don't actually have any index cards, so I just cut some from cardstock and put some pretty paper on the front of them. We had to have at least three flowers on each card, I probably covered that with the papers I used, but I felt that was sorta cheating.
First card: background is from a card (from a swap), I layered some flowers up on it. The pink flower on the left is from a swap, I added a flower sticker on top of it (Dollar Tree). Next is another pink flower (from a swap), with a jewel flower on top (from a swap). Third is another pink flower (from a swap) with another flower sticker (Dollar Tree).
Second card: background is a scrap, I also added a strip of flower washi on the bottom (Dollar Tree). I cut up a journaling card (Hobby Lobby) because I liked the sentiment. I added a pink flower on the top (Dollar Tree), a purple flower on the left (Hobby Lobby) and a pink flower on the right (Hobby Lobby)
Third card: background is a scrap. I added some lacey stickers that I paper pieced on the backs of them (Dollar Tree, paper from JoAnn's) and also some paper flowers at the top and bottom (from a swap).
I hope my partner likes them. I had a fun time making them.
I thought I'd include a few goodies and package it all up kinda cute:

I just took some packaging from stickers, cut the top off, covered it with paper, punched some holes in it (that was tough, it was through two layers of cardstock), threaded some rick rack through it and put a button on top. I included some flowery stickers and some lollipops.
