Peach Swap

I participated in A Swap for All Seasons Peach swap this month. Deb of Garage Sale Gal sent to me, I received my package on Monday, here's what was in it:

 packages for my card/tag, destash, and a card for me

 I love how she found a vintage peach card for me. I love how we all interprete the theme, so our cards/tags come out so different. I love the use of the gold on these.

 I love those little rosettes, I've seen them around, but I don't know how to make them, so I'm tickled she sent me some. I also love how much vintage there is in this packet.

And I sent to Marie of Spun by Me, here's what I sent her:

I didn't think I had a lot of peach materials to work with, and I didn't find much, but when I sat down with what I found, I created the two pieces above. The papers on the tag are scraps, the trim is from a bag of vintage trim that I bought at the Little Pink Studio, the picture is vintage, and the words, I cut out of a vintage children's book.
The card background is part of a scarf I cut up for my fabric book, the frame is from one of my Valentine's Day swaps, the button is vintage, the picture is a piece of clip art.
I LOVE what I created, I think they're beautiful (I wanted to keep them). Here's the destash I sent:

 I found peach to be a hard color to come up with, and most of the stuff I found, I used on my card/tag. I found some leftover fabric, some flowers (with fairies attached), the paper and trim are leftover from the card I made. I found a peachy hankie and one that said Mother (since our theme was peach/mother's day)

 There were a lot of peachy colored tags in my stash, there's some more fabric and paper, some butterfly punches. The buttons are new, I couldn't pass by some buttons at JoAnn Fabrics they other day (I miss buying buttons), and the box was the perfect color, I had to fill it with something.

I admit, I used the bags I got in my yellow stash last month to package some of my items this month.

Pink, Black and Bling Swap

I signed up for Kimberly at ArtJoyStuff for her Pink, Black and Bling swap. I had the hardest time figuring out what to make. I wanted to incorporate vintage and fabric into them. Here's my first attempt (it's blurry, sorry)

 I have a black background (kinda hard to see), pink fabric, some vintage trim and a plastic button. Once I made that one, I didn't really like it. Here's what I decide to make (they are much neater looking in person):

Again, you can't really see the background, but it's a vintage handmade letter, I glued black lace on top, added some pink trim and pink jewels. I really like these, unfortunately, I didn't have quite enough of the materials to make an exact extra for myself:

I think it's a little plain because this lace doesn't have the flowers on it. I may add more to it.

March Yellow Swap, part 2

And here's what I sent to my swap partner, Patty:

 I had the hardest time creating the card. I'm not sure why, and as you can see, it didn't turn out yellow. I loved it though. I kept seeing people using vintage images for their cards, so I found this on a vintage book page. I thought it looked like she was doing a little spring cleaning.
The tag, was fun. The rose, I bought with a string of others from an antique store, and I knew I had to use one in my swap this month. The flower underneath it was floating around my craft spot. The buttons and chick image are vintage as well.
Here's my little (or not) bit of destash for my partner.

Some asian paper, butterfly cut outs, a tag, some yellow burlap ribbon, some vintage ribbon, a matboard frame, a some buttons, some miscellaneous pieces found in my supply, a couple die cuts and some vintage bunny rabbits.

I hope she liked what I sent her.

March Yellow Swap

I signed up for Linda's Yellow March Swap at A Swap for All Seasons. My partner that was mailing to me was Becky at The Capricious Crafter. She asked what I liked, I told her I loved vintage, especially trims and linens. I received her package on Friday, I couldn't wait to open it, so I opened it at work. Here's what I pulled out of the outer envelope:

 I opened the rest while I was on break, here's what was inside:

A handmade dishcloth, two handmade tags, a handmade card, some buttons, some chocolate (which I am very proud to say, I haven't eaten, I tossed it in my Easter basket), some trims, a handmade pincushion (from vintage cloth, the first picture gives you a better look at it), and the tag that was on the outside package.

I love it all. I felt very spoiled this month. Thank you so much, Becky.

Red February Swap

The other day I posted what I sent for the Red Swap, but I forgot to post what I received. Here's what it looked like when I pulled them out of the envelope:

I've decided if I'm going to be continuing these swaps, I should make a box, or alter one to keep the tags and cards in.
Add that to my list of things to do.

Valentines

I decided to make some valentines for some of my friends, they became very simple and easy, but I like them. To get more out of my paper, I just cut a regular sized card in half, and then wrote on the backs of them. I kept wishing I had a heart punch, but then I was at the dollar store buying things for a swap and I notice a pack of foam hearts, problem solved.

On the top, I used patterened paper, some metallic purple, a piece of marbled paper (I've been saving this for the right thing, I think it looks pretty good), and a foam heart. On the bottom, I used a background piece from something else in my collection, a piece of pink cardstock, the same metallic paper as above and a foam heart.

 On the top, I used striped paper, a foam heart, and a leather heart. On the bottom, I wove two pieces of script paper together, added pink paper strips to frame it, pink jewels in the corners (I have no idea why they showed up green), red mulberry paper, and the middle of a heart doily.

 On the top, red striped paper, a scrap from the floor and a foam heart. On the bottom, some scroll paper, handmade purple paper, purple mulberry paper and a foam heart.

 On the top, hearts from packaging, white cardstock and red foam hearts. On the bottom, script paper from above, and the rest of the gold doily.

 I love the piece on the top, it's not done yet. It's a piece of burlap layered with canvas that I added red ink to and a heart cut from birch bark that I bought here. The bottom is red mulberry paper with a heart created from a pipe cleaner.

 The music paper was packaging from a swap, the red heart is a tag from a stuffed animal. The bottom is the rest of the packaging from the swap.

This is red cardstock, red mulberry paper and a piece of fabric.

I wanted to do some really elaborate pieces, but that's not how they turned out. I like how these turned out.

February Valentine's Day Swap

I joined in A Swap for All Season's February Swap. We had to create a Valentine's Day tag, and a card for our partner and send some red destash. Here's what I sent my partner:

It's red paper, layered with red mulberry paper, and a white mulberry paper heart. I added a Happy Valentine's Day to the heart

You can't really tell, but I put dictionary paper on the background, covered it in a red sheer fabricy paper, put a red patterned paper and a red fuzzy heart sticker on the top. The trim was white, but I colored it red with an ink pad. The fibers are some twine, a sheer ribbon and a metallic-y ribbon.
 I find it fun to make my tag in just the color we are assigned for each month. It gives me a little more of a challenge to see what I can come up.

I may have sent a bit more than a little bit of destash, I hope that doesn't count against me. There's some vintage valentines, some fabric, some lace, buttons, random doodads, and a vintage rose pin.
